02/08/2012 - Chestnut Hill, MA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The 15th-ranked Florida State Seminoles look to remain in first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings tonight as they head to the Conte Forum to take on the Boston College Eagles.
This will be just the ninth meeting between the conference rivals. The series is tied 4-4 as the Seminoles have won three straight to even it up. In last year's meeting, Florida State won 67-51 at the Tucker Center.
The Seminoles have reeled off seven straight wins since losing their conference opener to arrive at a 7-1 mark in conference play, tied with North Carolina atop the standings. Florida State outlasted the nationally ranked Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday and walked away with a 58-55 victory which made its overall record 16-6. Head coach Leonard Hamilton's team was very active on the defensive end of the floor for the second-straight game their last time out, as they forced Virginia into 20 turnovers. The Seminoles have been excellent in league action so far, as they have outscored ACC opponents by an average of 9.2 ppg.
Michael Snaer has been the main ingredient to Florida State's success this season. The junior guard leads the team with 13.8 ppg and has come up huge in big spots. Snaer put the Seminoles on the nation's radar last month with a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer that snapped Duke's impressive 45 game home-winning streak. Bernard James is a very good contributor for Florida State as well, as he averages 10.2 points and a team-high 8.6 rebounds per game. Okara White and Xavier Gibson get into the mix on a regular basis as well.
The Eagles hope a return home will help, as they are riding a six-game losing streak into this one after they fell 51-47 to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Saturday. The loss to Georgia Tech made Boston College 7-16 overall and 2-7 in league play. The Eagles were held to 34.7 percent shooting from the floor as they were held under 60 points for the fifth-straight game. Boston College has the lowest scoring offense in ACC play as it averages just 55.4 ppg. Conference opponents have managed to score 66.1 ppg against BC. The Eagles are last in the league in rebounding margin, as they are being beat on the boards by an average of 5.2 rpg.
Boston College lacks a standout player that many of its ACC rivals possess. Matt Humphrey's 10.1 points per game, which is not in the top 25 in the conference, is the highest on the team. Humphrey has scored 15 points in each of his last two outings. Lonnie Jackson added 10 points in each of the same contests. Ryan Anderson contributes 9.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while Patrick Heckmann nets 9.1 ppg. Dennis Clifford has been a decent man in the middle with averages of 9.3 points and 5.1 boards per game. Heckmann, Jackson, Anderson, and Clifford are all freshmen.

Will Ohio State continue to run the table in College Football betting odds?
MySportsbook.com favors Buckeyes, Fighting Irish and Golden Bears in this weekend's big games.
NEW YORK, NY, Sept. 21 - My Sportsbook NCAA football fans: things are beginning to get really interesting on college football's national stage. Following last weekend's "Separation Saturday", which included five teams ranked in the top 15 dropping games, the BCS Championship picture is beginning to take shape - with Ohio State leading the charge. And, according to odds makers at MySportsbook.com, the number-one-ranked Buckeyes will continue their winning ways this weekend.
Revenge will be the name of the game in Columbus this Saturday, as Ohio State looks to even the score following last season's loss to Joe Paterno's Nittany Lions. Although Penn State are listed as 16.5 point underdogs, they are 11-10 all-time versus the Buckeyes. Paterno and the Lions, however, will have to shut down Heisman Trophy favorite Troy Smith who has thrown for 769 yards and seven touchdowns this season.
Speaking of revenge, Notre Dame will be out for some against Michigan State, following last year's 44 - 41 overtime loss to the Spartans in South Bend. The thirteenth-ranked Irish, listed as a 3-point favorite, will also be looking to avenge last Saturday's thrashing from the Michigan Wolverines. The Spartans, meanwhile, have won seven of the last nine match-ups against Notre Dame and are coming off an impressive 38-23 victory over Pittsburgh.
Out west, 22nd-ranked Arizona State will be battling for their first victory over 21st-ranked California since 2000. Although the Golden Bears are listed as 7.5-point favorites, the Sun Devils are 3-0, lead the nation in sacks with 18 and possess the Pac-10's leading passer in sophomore quarterback Rudy Carpenter.

March Madness odds and printable March Madness brackets
With the field of 64/65 set, MySportsbook.com has the Florida Gators as the 4-1 favorite to successfully defend their National Championship. Men’s Division-1 College Basketball has not seen a team repeat as National Champions since Duke won back to back championships in ’91 & ‘92. After losing three out of four late in the season, the Gators are full of momentum as they won their last four games by an average of 18 points. Not surprisingly, right behind the Gators are the other three top seeds: Kansas 5-1, UNC 6-1, and Ohio State 7-1. Many consider Kansas to be the hottest team in the country, having won 11 straight. With Kansas, it is hard to ignore all of the early exits from the “dance” in recent years. With an impressive ACC Tournament, UNC ensured themselves the other top seed. UNC has about as much talent as any other team in the tournament but with a team that’s best players are primarily freshman and sophomores, could youth be a concern. Behind freshman sensation, Greg Oden, OSU will look to do what their football team failed to do just a few months earlier. OSU seems to have peeked at the right time, as they currently have a 17 game winning streak. Since the tournament field was expanded in 1985, there has never been an instance where all four #1 seeds advanced to the Final Four. It is obvious that each of the top seeds have the talent to make it through to Atlanta. But as everyone knows, when makes the NCAA Tournament so special are all of the spoilers and “Cinderella” stories that knock off the favorites on a daily basis.
